The lodge Americanism committeee has the responsibility of maintaing the lodge parade flag as well as educating the area youth about Americanism & Patriotism.

	The lodge has a 30'x40' Parade flag that is carried in area parades. We are always looking for volunteers to help carrying the flag. Upcoming Flag Carries (Click on Event for information): Herrin Festa Italiana Parade: TBA 2020 Pony League World Series Championship Game in Mt. Vernon, IL: TBA July 2020 Mt. Vernon "Illinois Proud" Fall Fest Parade: Saturday September 28^th, 2019. Line up on Newby by Farm Fresh Waltonville Veterans' Day Parade: TBA 2019. Line up by Waltonville VFW at 9:30 AM Parade at 10:00 AM.

Americanism Essay Contest This years' Elks Americanism contest is now open for 5-8 graders. The topic is "What Does Freedom of Speech Mean to Me" and the state winner will advance to the Grand Lodge Contest. District Lodge and State Winners receive cash prizes.
